As already described elsewhere, there are hardly any village structures in Bulabakulu. SHAK Junior School is located in what we would call “no man’s land”, in the Ugandan wasteland. There is only a dusty country road to the next larger town, Wobulenzi, which runs past the school grounds. All that can be seen around it are individual huts or clusters of huts. This means that the teachers must also live on the school grounds. So far, they have been housed in small local mud huts. Now it is time to provide the teachers with suitable accommodation as well. Principal Luyinda had the plans drawn up and the construction of the first small teachers’ house has begun. However, a total of 8 houses are needed. One house costs around 2500 euros. A lot of effort and work is still needed to raise the necessary donations.
